Short Course Description

Learning about advance separation technologies that are used in research laboratory settings and industrial settings. The focus will be on separation of proteins that exhibit biological activities.
- Protein structure, characteristics, intermolecular intermolecular forces
- Introduction for fermentation and separation processes
- Cell recovery processes following expression of recombinant proteins
- Protein recovery and purification methodologies
- Electrokinetic separations
- approaches for recovery of products in industrial settings
