Short Course Description

The goal of this Course is to become familiar with the ways to simulate materials with the help of computer models. To do this, we rely one the atomistic hypothesis---that all materials are made of atoms---and we use different mathematical approaches to the description of the interactions between those atoms: from assuming atoms are just hard spheres that collide with each other to taking into account fully their quantum mechanical nature. The Course focuses on implementing some of those models into computer programs that we run to learn about materials.
