Short Course Description

The objective of the course is to enable students to broaden their experience and understanding of key environmental challenges through field trips to sites of specific environmental interest in Israel. Five trips/topics will be studied over the course of the semester.
(If university COVID-19-related restrictions prevent some or all field trips planned during the course, the sites will be studied virtually).

The field trips will cover different aspects of environmental issues including physical, technological, social and policy-related topics, viewed through the perspective of different locations, stakeholders and organizations.

The course will diversify the learning experience by encouraging study in the field from a multi-disciplinary perspective and by requiring students to prepare information on the selected topics. The course aims to stimulate discussion and exchange of views among participants and to encourage student interaction and joint academic work.

The course grade is awarded based on presentations of each trip (group assignment) and short responses to the different topics (individual assignments).
