Short Course Description

At a moment when Europe faces its gravest security challenges since the Cold War, from the war in Ukraine to fractures in the transatlantic alliance, this course equips students with the theoretical and analytical tools to understand how the EU has transformed itself into a military and diplomatic actor on the world stage. Students will engage directly with the institutions, strategies, and operations at the heart of European defense and foreign policy, from the Strategic Compass to EU-led peace missions across three continents.
