Short Course Description
The course deals with aspects of game theory and strategic analysis of complex decision-making processes, in situations of conflict or interaction involving several participants with different goals and interests. The strategy of each decision maker (?player?) affects not only his own outcome but the outcomes of the others as well. Therefore, each player must analyze the strategies and reactions of all the other players before choosing his own strategy. In this course the students learn basic concepts and tools of game theory, and use them to model and analyze strategic conflicts and conflict resolution processes: prisoner?s dilemma, voting methods and strategic voting, equilibrium and stable agreements, zero-sum games, simultaneous vs. dynamic interaction, lawsuits and trial, strategic analysis of negotiation and bargaining: fairness and threats, and more.
