Short Course Description

Business in Analytics Seminar

In recent years, with the increasing availability of big data, business and organizational processes are undergoing significant transformations. Instead of making business decisions based on theory, many decisions are now data-driven. However, despite the vast amounts of collected data, the ability to derive value from it requires more than just applying algorithms or data tools. The success of data-oriented projects often depends on effectively connecting business problems with data and methodologies for extracting insights.

This course offers a unique opportunity for practical experience with big data, directly linked to industry. The course focuses on learning and working on data-driven projects to solve multiple business problems. Throughout the course, business challenges from various industries and academia will be reviewed, and the use of data analytics for supporting managerial decisions will be discussed, emphasizing how to connect business problems with big data from industry and solve them using existing methodologies.
